New WinSton released
(posted by ZeroAge - 18:39)

Massage
(posted by Zoop - 12:24)

Chris was asking about Massage became. Well, I can tell you that despite the lack of public releases, it has been greatly improved since version 0.9. Basically, it's now back in par with Meka and BrSMS, if not even better. Question is: will it be released one day? I don't know. In any case, keep in mind that the author, James McKay is still seriously involved in the development of SMS emulation and you can feel a bit of him in just about all emulators ^_^

And despite his sudden departure, I wish good luck to MagicTerry for his future projects and everything that goes with it.

Departure from Emucamp
(posted by MagicTerry - 10:13)

Hi everybody! I just wanted to announce that as of now I am no longer a member of the Emucamp team. This is a great site and I'm proud to have had my name up there with the few news items I've posted. I'm leaving for two reasons: first, I'm sure very few of you actually remember me, because for a long time, and for the foreseeable future, I just haven't had the time for the substantative, original posts to which I wanted to limit myself. More importantly, I've always held that the worst aspect of the emu-news scene is that news posters find it more and more acceptable to make wild claims about new advances in emulation with absolutely nothing of substance with which to back it up. I never thought I'd see the guys (and maybe the girls) of Emucamp fall victim to such a trend, but in any case, I feel embarrassed to be here. Thanks to all the emu folks who have helped me out, and to everyone, keep it real!

Well, speaking of Magic Engine, David, if you read this, please let the public know what's up with your great emulator. The final(?) release should had be out for months.

Whatever, today, Jamsponge told me there's something new at the website - and yeah, it's worth the wait! Hu6280 will support CD emulation! Check it out at the link below. Screenshots are available, too.

Klass of '99 is out at last!
(posted by GurtyGurt - 03:45)

FINALLY! I reported just over a week ago that it was almost due, and now...at long last, it's out! Klass of '99 is a remake of the fabulous Skool Daze, an old ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64 game. It also had a sequel on the Speccy only called 'Bak 2 Skool'. Klass of '99 appears to be (I haven't played it yet :P) a mix of the two. While poking around on the stie I also found this Skool Daze 2000 link of ANOTHER remake of Skool Daze! Probably will take just as long to come out, though. But in the meantime, CHECK IT OUT! And if you wanna know more about Skool Daze (the original), check out my site's review section. Emutech - the original one :) (we've been going since 1997 so no lectures please :P)

Final notice: GET KLASS OF 99 NOW! You won't regret it! Originality at its best!

Of course we used #Emucamp as an example to start and I thought to myself, "Hey. Can we keep it?" and he said "Sure! It's your channel." So I figure, hey. Why not give it a shot. Here's the plug:

Now: You can join #Emucamp on EFNet. Although there are no bots and I aint there to declare any ops right now, but hey. If you want to wait, I'll be on EFNet around 6:30PM. So enjoy the forming of this channel.

Emualliance is reporting of a Dreamcast Emulator and also has an interview of the main coder GPFGod that is working on it. Apparently the release of the emu is soppose to be 9/9/99 (For those of you who are familiar, 9/9/99 is the release date of the DC in the US.)

Just one thing. Remember that fake emulator contest they were holding back then on Emualliance? Just would like to point that out. ;-)

How would you like your Sports ROMS?
(posted by Sav2880 - 01:34)

Well, back to school for me in about 7 hours' time. So, even though the updates from me have been few and far between (uzplayer is the man for allowing us this luxury!), time's gonna get real sparse. A question I have for any devs out there who might care is: will a class in compiler construction be useful for emulator programming in any way shape or form? I'm curious! Send me e-mail with your thoughts on it.

So, now for the site take. I wanted to prop a site which, while not recently updated, has some cool ROM editing utils for some classic older sports games like RBI Baseball (which is the best bad sports game ever made cause the gameplay rocks), Tecmo Bowl, and Tecmo Super Bowl for the SNES, as well as a ROM Renamer. It's a nice site, and send 'em an e-mail saying you heard about it from EmuCamp. Maybe we can inspire some more good work from 'em!

Well, enjoy the site, and I'll still be around, but at times harder to find then an N64 ROM (and yes, they are hard to find) ... so keep filling my inbox with e-mail and you will get responses. :)

The voting boot results are in! I'm sure you're all terribly excited. The question was: "What Should We Add To Emucamp?" and 118 of you voted. The winner was.... A Java SMS Snail Game!

Well, to be honest I just put this here as a joke. But if anyone feels suitably inspired to actually do this, then drop us a line. I don't know enough Java and neither does Zoop, but I'm sure someone out there does, and wants their name in lights (g).

The second place went to updated download links, which is most definitely something that needs addressing. Well... rumours are that this situation will soon be resolved and pretty much take care of itself. But I didn't say that (but wait! It's here with your name on it. Damn.). Anyway, stay tuned.

UltraHLE Site Back in Business
(posted by Sav2880 - 16:44)

Word from the EmuGaming camp (check their site at the link below, it's pretty good) is that RealityMan, or BXNoMercy, or whatever his current name is ... well, the UltraHLE creator! He's re-opened the official site to provide information on the emulator. This doesn't mean work is continuing on the emulator, it's still discontinued as far as new versions.

But, if you are new to emulation, and missed all of the hype that surrounded it, you can learn about this emulator from the official site below.

made on www.emutech2000.com - Mark"

Goto Emutech 2000 to see their rebuttal.

And to Mark: Dont email me with that tone again!
