    • Engine and tire screeching sounds fixed in OutRunners.
Z80 core upgraded to RAZE 1.0.6.
    • Some savestate bugs fixed. States saved in previous versions of Modeler are no longer compatible and will not load properly.

    fixo Kawaks 1.36
    (posted by fixo - 17:24)

Kawaks, another CPS2 emu for Windows, was updated as well brining it to v1.36 with following updates:

    • New games supported: Dungeons & Dragons: Tower of Doom (Euro 940412), Street Fighter Zero 3 (Asia 980701), Vampire Savior: The Lord of Vampire (Asia 970519), X-Men: Children of the Atom (Euro 950105), X-Men Vs. Street Fighter (Euro 960910), The King of Fighters 2000 (encrypted C) (Thanks to Nicola Salmoria), The King of Fighters 2000 (encrypted C) is the exact same game as the other KOF2000. The difference only lies in the romset used (Encrypted gfx roms). The Encrypted C set will load significantly slower though specially for low RAM PCs so I'd suggest you still use the older set...
    • Added trackball emulation for The Irritating Maze
    • Fixed 257-m1.bin merge info for kof2000/kof2000n
    • Fixed a last bug in the Romcenter DAT generation.
    • Found a bug in the sound sync code. May fix some jerkiness for some people.
    • Included some code to try to make Kawaks less CPU intensive and more multitask friendly (meaning CPU shouldn't be 100% usage when you use Kawaks)
    • Changed Step frame from Space to Shift+Space (caused problems if you were using Space as in your game keys)
    • Added some keyboard shortcuts to modify cheats (allows to activate/desactivate quickly some cheats without even leaving fullscreen).
    • Fixed the puzzle game in Three Wonders (CPS1)
    • Fixed macros for NeoGeo games
    • Changed Redefine keys dialog box so it shows macro text next to the macro key
    • New Shot factory (Tools menu). Works very nicely with NeoGeo games :)

    fixo Hoxs64 v0.9 BETA
    (posted by fixo - 19:32)

A new version of Hoxs64, a Commodore64 emulator for Windows, has been released brining it to v0.9BETA with following release notes:

"More of those fancy demos should now display.
FLI and IFLI should work. (It was sort of working before, if you wrote a program that
worked with the old Hoxs64 incompatible timing.)

    1) Timing of interrupts with respect to the VIC --> CPU BA line has been fixed (I hope).
This information is not easy to find.

    2) Introduced a 12 clock cycle delay between the "g-access" data fetch of the VIC and
the rendering of the pixels. Pixels are rendered with the colour register values that
are available at the clock that they are rendered, as opposed to the clock that the
    pixels are fetched.

    3) Fix to allow the border to be turned off by a switch from a 24 line to a 25 line
display while the raster line is any where on the "top comparison line". This
information seems to be missing from Christian Bauer's VIC Article.

    4) Reworked CPU and VIC timing to allow the CPU to influence some additional
operations of the VIC at the same clock cycle as the write to the VIC registers.

    5) Fixed the VIC to fetch the lower 4 bits of the current CPU opcode when accessing the
colour RAM while the address lines are in use by the CPU.

    6) Introduced a 2 clock cycle delay (was 1 clock delay) between the CPU write to $D011
and the time that VIC goes from idle to display state given the various logic rules.

    (posted by Roni - 11:57)

Here comes a new version of kawaks a Windows CPS/CPS2 and NeoGeo emulator. Here is what's been updated today:

    • New games supported :
      • Ganyru
      • Nightmare in the Dark
      • Strikers 1945+
      • Prehistoric Isle 2

Kudos to Nicola Salmoria for breaking the encryption. Impressive job.
    • Alpha Mission 2 romset has changed to match the latest MAME
    • Changed The King of Fighters '99: Millennium Battle so it uses the real encrypted gfx roms. This is the standard MAME set, with encrypted roms, encrypted Ps, no S1, the standard Vs This has the inconvenient of making load times a LOT longer for people who have 128mb of RAM or less, so I added a new subset of kof99: "The King of Fighters '99: Millennium Battle (full decrypted)" (kof99nd.zip) which is exactly the same game, but uses different roms, requires significantly less ram, and loads really faster.
      It uses :
      • kf99p_c*.rom from the prototype (this makes NO difference game wise compared to using the real encrypted roms)
      • kf99_s1d.rom which was released some time ago
      • kof99_v*.rom and kof99_m1.rom from kof99.zip
      • kf99n_p1.rom and kf99n_p2.rom from the new kof99n.zip from MAME 0.56

That gives a simple standard NeoGeo set, gamewise identical to the big encrypted one, that could even run in NeoRAGE X :)
    • Fixed a bug where tick marks in the menus where cleared by changing the video memory settings from the menu or on the first launch

Download it from the Multiple Arcade emulators page or go to the homepage to get it, linked below.
