Got a Dreamcast! January 26, 2001
Although the system has already been out for more than a year, I went out and bought a Dreamcast anyway. The PS2 and its extremely limited library of games wasn't doing it for me; I wanted to practice games like Capcom Vs. SNK, Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 and Street Fighter III: Third Strike at home so I could play them well in arcades.

Capcom Vs. SNK Van Nuys Tourney January 5, 2001
Thank goodness the holidays are over and everything is back to normal. Last night, I went to a Capcom Vs. SNK tournament at the All Amusement Fun Center in Van Nuys. I didn't participate since I don't really play the game but I went anyway, just to watch. It was nothing spectacular, but for the most part it was handled professionally by Jason Wilson and the rest of the organizers. Jason also played in the tournament, placing third. Second place went to Scott A. and Alex "Calipower" Valle did not lose a match to win it in the winners' bracket. Although there were some delays (messed up joysticks, broken buttons, etc.), the competition was friendly and the tournament was pretty enjoyable. Here are some pics I took at the event:

Holiday Decorations November 28, 2000
The holidays are here and I have decorated my site. Happy holidays!!

X-Men and Gladiator November 28, 2000
I picked up two of the biggest hits from the year 2000, as well as two of the coolest movies ever made IMHO, X-Men and Gladiator on DVD. The X-Men characters were cast perfectly, with a special thumbs up to Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart for their portrayals of Wolverine and Professor X. As for Gladiator, DVDs just don't get better than this. The package comes with two discs; one disk holds the movie (including both DTS and Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtracks) and the other disk holds the special features (with four hours worth of footage). I am very happy to add these two DVDs to my collection!
