Zaxxon is a know game for all of us, long time gamers. It has versions on arcades, msx, pc and so. The Master System version is by far the best and also, the most easy to beat. I really enjoyed to play it with the 3D glasses, but sometimes you don't know well where to aim.
The enemies are a bit repetitive and the game overall is very easy for experienced shooter players. You will notice a fuel meter on your status bar. The ammount of fuel will decrease with time and shoots you fire. There are 4 kinds of power ups: the yellow ones will boost the speed of your ship; the green ones will give you an extra weapon (there are 3 weapons: N, H and M. The difference between them is that the most powerfull they are, more fuel they spend); the gray ones will expand your fuel capacity and the pink ones will give you an extra ship. The battle scenes are sequences of space battles, enemy bases and bosses, respectively.
The game is composed of infinite blocks of 9 rounds. Once you beat the 9th round, you beat the game and it restarts, harder than before. There are 3 kinds of bosses, and all you have to do in order to beat them is shoot at the middle of them.
If you are playing this game on an emulator (yes, of course you are!!!) press pause at the title screen and you can select the 2D mode.
So, finish 9 levels of Zaxxon 3D and open a beer can! You've made it! :)
