Fantasy zone reveiw by Lord B Opa-Opa, one of Sega’s trademark characters long before any blue hedgehogs, stars in this cutesy colourful shoot-em-up that’s more fun that a gerbil down you pants. Fly your tiny ship through 8 colourful stages, blowing up enemy bases and collecting the cash ... then come up against a whole level full of badass (but cute) bosses. The most money you make the more parts you can equip your ship with, from faster engines to bigger bombs and more powerful weapons systems, Opa-Opa can really whip some ass. The stage bosses are huge and you go one on one with the big mofo’s. And after you’re through whupping his ass, it’s time to collect big time - I just want to know one thing : where was he stashing all that lode? Until I actually played the arcade version, I had no idea this was such a faithful conversion, in fact - one of the best for the Master System I have ever seen. And since the arcade version was an instant classic in terms of gameplay and graphics, this version is just as much of a classic on the humble Sega 8-bit console. Final Comment: If you haven’t played this game before, I suggest you do it at once. It was one my favourites on the SMS, and also the main reason I’ll probably have chronic arthritis later in life, because my pads had no rapid fire function.
